The Youth & Family Resource Network is seen as an effective service provider, which advocates and provides opportunity for the positive social development of our community.

On April 19, 1994, the Kingsville Police Service Board, held a community meeting to address the concerns of youth violence in Kingsville.  Over 30 representatives from various community sectors attended and the rest is " Our History".

1994

Kingsville Police Service Board holds a community forum to discuss youth issues.  The Community Cares Action Committee Kingsville & Gosfield South (CCAC) is established. holding Community Forum at Migration Hall.

 

 

1995

The CCAC opens South Shore Youth Centre in Kingsville.

 

1996

CCAC is incorporated as a not-for-profit organization.

 

1997

South Shore Youth Centre becomes a United Way/Centraide Member Agency.

 

1999

South Shore Youth Centre and Cottam Youth Centre amalgamate to form the Kingsville Youth Association.

 

2002

Kingsville Youth Association assumes responsibility for Harrow Youth Centre's programs and services.

2003

Kingsville Youth Association changes its name to Youth & Family Resource Network of Essex County in order to better reflect present services and locations.
