KEYS PROGRAM Top of page^
(KINGSVILLE’S EARLY YEARS STEPS TO LEARNING PROGRAM)
Description of Program:
- This is an ongoing drop in early years learning program for children 0-6 and their parents/caregiver.
- Offers participation through learning activities, peer interaction, songs, rhymes, and stories.
- The program currently operates on the following days:
- Wednesday mornings
- Thursday afternoons
- Friday mornings
Description of Position:
- To assist with the preparation of instructional materials (cutting, coloring, assembling activities and games)
- To assist with the set up of activity centers and implementation of activities
- Assist with washing and disinfecting toys, learning materials, equipment, etc. (all items that may find themselves in a child’s mouth need to be thoroughly washed and disinfected after or before each session.)
- To be a positive role model.
- Interaction with parents, caregivers and children in attendance
Responsibilities:
- To adhere to the policies and procedures of the Youth and Family Resource Network of Essex County.
- To maintain a safe environment for children.
- To follow the instructions/supervision of the KEYS Program Coordinator.
- To complete YFRN volunteer screening process.
Qualifications:
- Positive role model.
- Responsible and reliable.
- Patience
- Able to follow directions.
Time Commitment:
- Minimum of 1 program day month
VOLUNTEER DRIVER Top of page^
Description of Position:
- To assist in providing transportation for members to appointments, programs, special events and field trips
Qualification:
- Responsible and reliable
- 21 years of age or older
- Valid drivers licence
Details:
- An agency vehicle will be provided or volunteer can use own vehicle and be reimbursed their mileage cost
EVENT AND FUNDRAISING VOLUNTEER Top of page^
Description of Position:
- To assist in planning and implementing fundraising initiatives and special events within the community.

Time Commitment:
- Planning meetings will vary with time commitment.
- Maximum of four hours at an event will be asked depending on the responsibility assigned.
EDUCATION AND RECREATION PROGRAM ASSISTANTS Top of page^
Description of Position:
- To assist in implementing social, recreational opportunities for youth within the community.
- To motivate youth involvement.

YOUTH DANCE ASSISTANTS Top of page^
Location: Harrow and Cottam
Description of Program:
- This is an ongoing program which is held monthly on Fridays
- The dance is held from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
- The dance is geared to youth in grade 5 through grade 8.
Description of Position:
- To assist with the supervision of youth in grade 5 through 8.
- To assist with the set up and clean up of the dance.
- To follow assigned duties. (each volunteer will be assigned a specific duty and detailed instructions for that position will be provided prior to the set up for the dance.)
Responsibilities:
- To maintain a safe, fun environment for youth.
- To follow the instructions/supervision of the program coordinator.
- To ensure that dance policies and procedures are followed. (e.g.:dress code, behaviour)
- To actively and effectively communicate with youth.
Time Commitment:
- A commitment of two (2) dances per year is required and will be scheduled according to the availability of the volunteer.
